Windows RT -- Microsoft's operating system for tablets -- won't allow you to switch from the default Internet Explorer, Mozilla claims.

Mozilla complained Wednesday that Microsoft prohibits running any browser except Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows RT, hampering choices for users. Google said on Thursday it shares the concerns.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 reach the end of the line, and it’s time to upgrade Major browsers like Chrome and Edge are also ending support for these platforms.
